Athletics

The goal of our youth sports programs is to serve young players and their families by providing fun, safe and enjoyable youth sports experiences, by recognizing each player’s physical and emotional well-being, by teaching skills development, by treating them with respect and dignity, by encouraging positive parent involvement and by enriching young lives with meaningful recreation and socialization and to do so while displaying good sportsmanship.

Sports Offerings

 

Fall Sports

CYL Girls Volleyball 5th - 8th grade. Practices begin the second week of August. Season begins the first week in September. Tournament play starts the second week in October.
Boys & Girls Floor Hockey K - 8th grade. Played through the Lansing Parks and Recreation League. Practices start the first week of November. Season begins the first week in January and runs through the middle of February. Tournament(s) starts the end of February and run through the end of March.
Jr. Cougar Boys Flag & Tackle Football Practices begin on Monday, August 11 at Lansing Catholic High School from 6-8 pm. A sports physical dated April 15 or later is required. More information on tackle and flag football for the younger kids can be found at: www.lansingcougarfootball.com. Questions can be directed to Jim Baker at 517-202-1580.

Jr. Cougar Boys & Girls Golf More info to come...
Jr. Cougar Boys & Girls Cross Country Practices start on Thursday, August 14 from 6-7 pm at Lansing Catholic High School. A sports physical dated April 15 or later is required. Cross Country is for boys and girls 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Younger kids can participate in practices. For more information contact Laurie Smith at lauriesmith512@sbcglobal.net.
CARS Boys & Girls Soccer K - 8th grade. Practices start at the beginning of September. Season starts approximately the third week of September and ends around the third week of October.
Jr. Cougar Boys & Girls Soccer There are various boys and girls teams being put together for the fall soccer season. Anyone interested in playing should contact Gus Flores at gustavoaflores@gmail.com for those details.
 

Winter Sports

CYL Boys Basketball 5th - 8th grade. Practices start the last Monday in October. Season begins the second week of November and runs through the second week of January. Tournaments begin the second week of January and runs through the third week of January.
CYL Girls Basketball 5th - 8th grade. Practices begin around the third week of January. Season begins the first week of February and runs through the middle of March. Tournament starts the middle of March and runs through the third week of March.
Pewee Boys & Girls Basketball 3rd and 4th grades. Co-ed program played through Our Savior Lutheran School League. Practice begins the third week of November and games begin in December through February. All Games are played on Saturdays at Our Savior Lutheran School.
 

Spring Sports

CARS Boys & Girls Soccer K - 8th grade. Practices start at the end of March or beginning of April. Season starts approximately the third week of April and ends around the third week of May.
CYL Girls & Boys Baseball & Softball 7th and 8th grades.  Practice begins the second week of March. Season begins the second week of April and runs through the end of May.
CYL Girls Softball 7th and 8th grades.  Practices begin the second week of March.

Summer Sports

Summer Baseball & Softball K - 8th grade. Practice begins the second or Third week of May. Seasons begins at the beginning of June and runs through the end of July.
  • T-Ball: Age 5 – 6 co-ed
  • Pitching Machine: Ages 7 – 8 co/ed
  • Coach Pitch Baseball: Ages 9 -10 co/ed
  • Wild Cat Baseball: (Boys) 12 and under; 14 and under
  • Softball: (Girls) 10 and under; 12 and under; 14 and under

Volunteering

Our athletic programs are always in need of volunteers.  From coaching and helping with practices to program administration, any and all help is always welcome.
